Role
Head Teacher role at Kaplan International Languages (KIL) Auckland.
KIL teaches English, German, Spanish and French to international students from all over the world, in a fun and engaging environment. We have six schools in Australia and New Zealand and teach over 8,000 international students each year.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Studies in the management of the Academic Department
- Deputise for Director of Studies as needed
- Manage the induction and mentoring of new teachers
- Contribute significantly to the school professional development programme
- Work as a member of the Senior Academic Team in the running of the Academic Department
- Manage all admin, student counselling & academic support of the Academic Programmes
- Ensure that the School’s Academic Courses are of high quality and well run.
Requirements
- CELTA and Bachelors Degree
- DELTA or equivalent
- Minimum 5yrs EFL teaching experience, which includes management experience
- Knowledge of NZ key gvmt agencies & peak bodies (NZQA, Code of Practice, English NZ, Education NZ)
- Experience teaching Cambridge and IELTS Exam Preparation Courses
- Experience teaching English for Business programmes
- Excellent computer skills, organisational skills and time management skills
- Ability to set targets and meet deadlines and to work under pressure
- Ability to work co-operatively as part of a close-knit team
