Role

Head Teacher role at Kaplan International Languages (KIL) Auckland.

KIL teaches English, German, Spanish and French to international students from all over the world, in a fun and engaging environment.  We have six schools in Australia and New Zealand and teach over 8,000 international students each year.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Studies in the management of the Academic Department
  • Deputise for Director of Studies as needed
  • Manage the induction and mentoring of new teachers
  • Contribute significantly to the school professional development programme
  • Work as a member of the Senior Academic Team in the running of the Academic Department
  • Manage all admin, student counselling & academic support of the Academic Programmes
  • Ensure that the School’s Academic Courses are of high quality and well run.

Requirements

  • CELTA and Bachelors Degree
  • DELTA or equivalent
  • Minimum 5yrs EFL teaching experience, which includes management experience
  • Knowledge of NZ key gvmt agencies & peak bodies (NZQA, Code of Practice, English NZ, Education NZ)
  • Experience teaching Cambridge and IELTS Exam Preparation Courses
  • Experience teaching English for Business programmes
  • Excellent computer skills, organisational skills and time management skills
  • Ability to set targets and meet deadlines and to work under pressure
  • Ability to work co-operatively as part of a close-knit team
