Role

The Senior Business Analyst works within the Kaplan Professional Continuing Education business unit to design and develop features and capabilities which form the basis of change, and continual improvement to, the Ontrack v2 (OTv2) platform and the team’s Ways of Working.

This role will liaise with Key Stakeholders to ensure scoping of user requirements, collaborate with solution designers and developers to realise the vision of the Business Owners, plus partner with the Delivery Lead to maintain a living product roadmap for the platform as it evolves and grows. This uniquely energetic, dedicated, and passionate person will lead through their work as they build an understanding of what is needed plus why it is needed, always looking to the future for the Ontrack v2 Platform.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that solutions align with the vision, mission, strategy, objectives, plus the needs of Kaplan Professional’s clients and OTv2 users
  • Identify, analyse, capture, and clearly define requirements for OTv2 ensuring traceability to design and functionality, ensuring no gaps or inconsistencies exist
  • Develop scope matrixes, user personas, empathy maps, user journey maps, use cases, sequence diagrams, test cases and scripts
  • Articulate the relationship of user stories and epics to each other to satisfy overall business goals being mindful of key dependencies and constraints
  • Recognise and propose viable solutions or controls including identifying/analysing options to assess feasibility and operational impact
  • Assist in the creation, and management of, the living Product Roadmap for the life of the product/platform as user requirements/needs as well as business strategies pivot or change
  • Act as the key liaison and subject matter expert between business stakeholders/users, Technology stakeholders and functional team members
  • Stimulate and engage team promoting innovation and creativity to help achieve performance objectives
  • Be willing to participate in cross-functional team workshops and brainstorming, plus where possible coach, and mentor to maximise others’ potential and professional growth
  • Act as the Product Evangelist maintaining a keen focus on amazing customer experiences and outcomes
  • Encourage teamwork, collaboration, initiative, and celebration of results, through leadership, to help foster a high performing, results driven culture

Requirements

Essential

  • Minimum 4 years of Agile business analysis experience working in business, digital product and platform development, as wells as within bespoke software development environments
  • Commitment to the OTv2 development journey long-term
  • Experience working in cross-functional development and delivery teams
  • Demonstrated experience working with Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid delivery methodologies
  • Knowledge of/experience with Release Management and DevOps practices
  • Able to partner effectively with various stakeholders and personalities
  • Experience working on large projects as well as handling day-to-day operational requests from the Business
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload
  • Robust verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, OneDrive, MS Office suite, MS 365, Zoom, MS Teams
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence plus with tools such as Asana, Clarizen, MS Project Online, Balsamiq, Rational Requisite Pro, PlanView, Mural, Miro to name a few

 

Desirable

  • IIBA®-AAC, CCBA®, PMI-PBA®, CBAP®, CAB, AAC, AgileBA®, CSPO, PSPO, Scrum, Agile Certifications, or relevant industry qualifications (highly desirable)
  • Tangible Product Owner capabilities and experience (highly desirable)
  • Previous experience in a technical or development role
