Role
Kaplan Professional currently has an exciting opportunity for the right candidate/s to lend their academic and financial advice expertise to shape the future of the financial advice profession through education. You will play a critical role at a pivotal time as the Head Academic or Academic, Financial Advice.
The primary purpose of these roles is teaching (online) and teaching-related activities involving the creation, delivery, and content of university-level education. They combine technical expertise in financial planning, with education and pedagogical expertise so that complex information can be conveyed to students in an engaging and innovative way to promote learning.
Responsibilities
- Play a lead role in (Head Academic), or actively contribute to (Academic), the provision of scholarly advice and technical expertise to the Teaching and Learning team
- Preparation and delivery of online lectures, tutorials, practicals, seminars, workshops, and other forms of educational delivery (including coaching), to undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Perform an active role in maintenance of academic standards and in the development of educational policy and curriculum within the discipline
- Support and induct new tutors and assessors on how to perform their roles effectively
- Perform a lead (Head Academic)/independent (Academic) role in course development and teaching methodology for topics/courses in the discipline area
- Participate in course review processes such as content renewal and accreditation
- Comply with the expectations of regulators and professional bodies
- Be a productive, contributing member of the Kaplan team by always displaying the company values
Requirements
- Master’s degree plus significant financial planning industry experience (essential)
- Experience in learning design and delivery within both higher education and vocational education environments (including applicable regulations)
- High level analytical and technical skills with the utmost attention to detail
- High-level interpersonal skills and a proven ability to influence key internal and external stakeholders, whilst maintaining effective relationships
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Completion/near completion of a PhD or equivalent qualification (desirable)
