IT Project Manager - Intermediate Level

Role  

We are looking for an IT Project Manager who will be responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing out initiatives within the diverse, and complex, IT Portfolio backlog.  

The IT Project Manageris a bridge between upper management, key internal and external stakeholders, plus business and technology teams, tasked with the delivery of key technology initiatives. You will play a prominent role in fulfilling our vision, as well as in meeting business goals and objectives. Provision of full transparency as to the health of assigned initiatives is key. Responsibilities  

  • Lead planning and delivery of assigned initiatives (which may be across core infrastructure, digital development, networking, SaaS implementations and integrations) in accordance with an agreed delivery approach with the Head of Portfolio and Delivery Services, taking into consideration constraints and options for flexibility 
  • Identify key outcomes and deliverables; feed into the scope definition; elicit, interpret and prioritise business requirements which align with forecasted business outcomes  
  • Develop and maintain projects’ Risks, Assumptions, Actions, Issues, Dependencies, Decisions, Lessons Learned and Benefits Registers (RAAIDD) logs 
  • Develop and implement, when necessary, mitigation strategies and tactics to offset the realisation of risks 
  • Maintain regular engagement with Business and Technology Sponsors 
  • Communicate clearly, effectively, efficiently, and frequently with all stakeholders 
  • Consult with internal marketing, technical and operational leads/management around status of testing and go live readiness to ensure communication with internal plus external stakeholders are accurate and timely 
  • Provide clear and accurate status/progress reports plus executive level presentations for all in-flight initiatives 
  • Develop budget estimations and track spend for assigned initiatives as required (CAPEX and/or OPEX) 

 Requirements  

  • Certifications/relevant industry qualifications such as REGPM®, CAPM®, CPM®, PMP®, MPM®, CSM® or relevant project or program management qualifications (essential) 
  • Proven ability to lead customer-focused business and technical projects to ensure objectives, goals, and critical business commitments are met (essential) 
  • Minimum 3+ years of technology project /delivery management experience (essential) 
  • Business or Business Administration or other tertiary qualifications (highly regarded) 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication 
  • Excellent workshop and meeting facilitation skills 
  • Successful history working in organisations of varying maturity levels across technology and business-related projects 
  • Demonstrated experience working with Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, Hybrid and Tailored delivery approaches 
  • Experience partnering with technology and operational workstream leads, SMEs and Program Managers 
  • Experience in expenditure planning, budget maintenance including reallocation of cost, tracking, and monitoring and budget reports 
  • Experience working with Portfolio Project Management Tools such as MSPO, Asana, Clarizen, MS or PlanView 
  • Solid understanding of, and demonstrated experience in using, collaboration and office tools: Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, MS Office suite, MS 365, Zoom, Mural
