EAP/AE/ESL Teacher

Role

The University of Adelaide College (UOAC) is seeking an Academic English/ESL teacher for some casual teaching within a variety of programs, including Degree Transfer and Pre-master’s Programs. These programs articulate with the University of Adelaide undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

The University of Adelaide College is the preferred pathway provider for the University of Adelaide, and classes are delivered either at the College’s Melbourne or Adelaide premises.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently planning and delivering high-quality online or face-2-face English lessons in accordance with class schedules
• Conducting courses spanning a range of language levels to international students who will proceed to study further in their higher education provider
• Carrying out administrative functions in a timely and accurate manner
• Addressing individual student needs and concerns both in and outside the classroom as appropriate to educational and institutional guidelines
• Fostering and participating in a team environment and contributing to the effective delivery of quality English language courses offered to international students

Teaching hours are between 8 am and 7 pm, Monday to Friday. The program is delivered in two semesters over the calendar year.

Requirements

• Experience in the delivery of ESL lessons to international students (essential)
• A recognised degree (essential)
• 2 years' experience in secondary or tertiary education(essential)
• Proven experience working with diverse groups of students and colleagues
• Energy, enthusiasm, and a dynamic approach to classroom performance
• A commitment to delivering an unforgettable student experience
• Effective communication skills
• Strong technology capabilities, digital literacy
• Highly developed organisation & time management skills
