  • Looking for casual, part-time teachers in Foundation and Diploma Studies, commencing from June 2024, at Murdoch College.

Role

We are looking for casual, part-time teachers in Foundation and Diploma studies in the following disciplines:

  • Information Technology
  • STEM

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver scheduled class lessons, practicals and workshops
  • Deliver 1 hour of consultation (per unit per week) for students outside of scheduled teaching hours, especially for students considered to be at risk
  • Prepare unit teaching materials in collaboration with teaching team members
  • Develop unit outlines, curriculum documents and assessment tasks in collaboration with other teaching team members
  • Mark assessments including grading, recording results and participate in college and pathway moderation processes as required
  • Design, invigilate and mark exams
  • Undertake pastoral care duties for under 18-year-old students in conjunction with Student Success Officers and the Academic Director
  • Participate in College supported professional development sessions, as well as pursuing opportunities for self-directed professional learning
  • Maintain awareness of college resources, communications, information and staff, in order to best direct students to support within the College regarding their studies, health, safety and wellbeing
  • Comply with company policies and procedures including WHS legislation requirements

Requirements:       

  • Degree in relevant discipline (essential)
  • Qualifications and experience in teaching international students at Foundation or Diploma, and bachelor’s degree level (essential)
  • Experience in working with international students (essential)
  • Interest in teaching and student learning (essential)
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Intellectual and operational flexibility
  • Excellent computer literacy
  • Ability to consistently interpret and apply policy
  • Valid Working with Children Check (will be required to obtain WWCC)
  • Demonstrated background in professional development endeavours (desirable)
