Role 

Join Kaplan Australia's IT DevOps team in a pivotal role suited for those with experience as a Delivery Lead, Scrum Master, or those transitioning from a senior IT help desk role or IT project coordinator position. Drive the execution of diverse IT initiatives, both project-based and business as usual (BAU), acting as a liaison between upper management, internal and external stakeholders, and both business and technology teams. This role requires a versatile skill set capable of managing multiple projects or initiatives simultaneously and autonomously, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Responsibilities 

  • Work closely with the Head of Development to ensure that all team members are appropriately utilised 
  • Work closely with the DevOps team to develop, drive, and maintain the DevOps roadmap 
  • Facilitate observability of DevOps team utilisation and capacity 
  • Report on team utilisation, capacity and performance 
  • Track and ensure the timely delivery of incidents and requests across multiple platforms/tools/systems 
  • Work closely with the DevOps team to prioritise and plan work through to completion 
  • Facilitate removal of roadblocks with DevOps team members 
  • Develop and maintain the program’s Risks, Assumptions, Actions, Issues, Dependencies, Decisions, Lessons Learned and Benefits Registers (RAAIDD) registers 
  • Develop and implement, when necessary, mitigation strategies and tactics to offset the realisation of risks 
  • Maintain regular engagement with Business and Technology Sponsors 
  • Communicate clearly, effectively, efficiently, and frequently with all stakeholders 
  • Liaise with internal marketing, technical and operational leads/management around status of testing and go live readiness to ensure communication with internal plus external stakeholders are accurate and timely 
  • Prepare and distribute weekly status/progress reports for all in-flight initiatives 
  • Develop budget estimations for assigned initiatives as required (CAPEX &/or OPEX) 

Requirements

  • 2 years plus experience working within an Information technology team with the demonstrated capability to lead technical projects, ensuring the achievement of objectives, goals, and crucial business commitments. (essential)
  • Considerable experience working in cross-functional delivery models 
  • Successful track record working in organisations of varying maturity levels across technology and business-related projects 
  • Capacity to manage high stress situations  
  • Demonstrated experience working with Waterfall, Agile/Scrum delivery approaches 
  • Experience partnering with technology and operational workstream leads, SMEs and Program Managers 
  • Experience preparing high quality status reports and project presentations suitable for executive level audiences 
  • Experience in expenditure planning, budget maintenance including reallocation of cost, tracking and monitoring and budget reports 
  • Experience working with Portfolio Project Management Tools such as Monday / MS Project 
  • Solid understanding of, and demonstrated experience in using, appropriate tools: Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, MS Office suite, MS 365, Zoom, 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication 
  • Excellent workshop and meeting facilitation skills
