Role

We are thrilled to present an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst within Kaplan Professional's Strategic Initiatives division. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in driving the evolution of Kaplan Professional's Continuing Education eLearning platform, OnTrack.

Your responsibilities will involve delving into existing systems and processes to chart a course toward future objectives.  We're seeking a candidate who can identify opportunities and innovate solutions, shaping the development backlog for new features, defining future work programs or enhancements.  Collaborating closely with key stakeholders, including the Product Owner, subject matter experts, and test and technical teams, you will help bring the product roadmap vision to life, delivering impactful business outcomes and ensuring an exceptional user experience. Responsibilities

  • Develop high quality requirements, breaking them down into sprint ready User Stories that are small and testable to meet our Definition of Ready and Done
  • Develop supporting analysis collateral that support and inform the team on gaining a clearer understanding of the issue or requirements, for example: context diagrams, user journey maps, process diagrams, sequence diagrams, data flow diagrams, decision models and more.
  • Ensure that solutions align with the vision, mission, strategy, business objectives, plus the needs of OnTrack clients, students and end users.
  • Contribute to ideas and identify new opportunities to improve user experience, increase efficiency or productivity and to enable our users through technology.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Ontrack platform and the business context in which it is used.
  • Analyse business requests and assess feasibility and impacts, highlight gaps, determine priorities and drive opportunities for continuous improvement and road map planning.
  • Conduct business analysis required for the operation and growth of the Ontrack platform and related ecosystem.
  • Recognise and propose viable solutions or controls, including identifying and analysing options to assess feasibility and operational impact.
  • Help drive implementation and adoption of best practices in project and software delivery life cycle.
  • Manage and groom the product backlog.
  • Support and complete release testing as required (UAT, Regression, PIV) and collaborate with the test lead and development team to explain requirements and resolve issues.
  • Act as the product champion, maintaining a keen focus on amazing customer experiences and business outcomes.
  • Act as the key liaison and subject matter expert between business stakeholders/users, technology stakeholders and functional team members.
  • Advise on business impacts and provide input to prioritise deliverables.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures including WHS legislation requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of Agile business analysis experience working in business, digital product, and platform development. (essential)
  • Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to work independently and autonomously, as well as within a team.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and prioritise workloads.
  • Experience in a software development or product role.
  • Experience working in cross-functional development and delivery teams.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Experience with Release Management practices with the ability to coach and mentor business teams.
  • Ability to partner effectively with various stakeholders and personalities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in Jira and Confluence.
  • Education sector industry experience.
  • Salesforce experience.
  • Moodle experience.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, OneDrive, MS Office suite, MS 365, Zoom.
  • IIBA®-AAC, CCBA®, PMI-PBA®, CBAP®, CAB, AAC, AgileBA®, CSPO, PSPO, Scrum, Agile Certifications, or relevant industry qualifications.
