Role:

Due to continuous growth at Kaplan Business School, we are thrilled to announce a fantastic opportunity! As the ASC Assistant Manager, you'll be instrumental in managing the day-to-day operations of our Academic Success Centre (ASC) services and team. Your contributions will directly impact our mission of delivering exceptional academic support services, further solidifying KBS's reputation as a flexible, student-centered, and high-quality institute of higher education. Working closely alongside the Academic Success Centre Manager, you will take charge of various ASC operations, from scheduling and event coordination to analysing service trends and managing ASC projects. Additionally, you'll play a pivotal role in cross-functional initiatives and oversee critical processes like Reasonable Adjustment. Moreover, you'll have the chance to assist the ASC Manager in remotely supporting a national team of Academic Learning Advisors. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to drive student success and contribute to the ongoing excellence of KBS's academic support services.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively promote the ASC services and resources to students
  • Promote the ASC services to other KBS departments, especially the Academic and Campus teams
  • Monitor the development of ASC content by conducting regular audits of resources to ensure they are of high quality and comply with relevant KBS policies
  • Lead on the provision of Reasonable Adjustments to students with specific learning requirements. Provide guidance and support to Academic Learning Advisors to ensure effective implementation of approved Reasonable Adjustments specified in the Individual Learning Plan
  • Keep up to date with sector best practices regarding reasonable adjustments that support equitable access to education
  • Use KBS systems and data to identify trends and support continuous improvement of the ASC to best address changing student needs
  • Employ timely and effective communication between stakeholders to ensure efficient turnaround times on applications, requests and time-sensitive processes
  • Provide in-class support for academic facilitators and students as required
  • Facilitate the appropriate referral of students to support services both within the business and externally
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of all ASC services
  • Conduct weekly checks of ASC Calendly events and ensure that any changes on Calendly are completed accurately and consistently (these include blocking off leave days, temporary changes to appointment timings and fair distribution of workload)
  • Motivate and engage the Academic Learning Advisor team promoting innovation and creativity to help achieve performance objectives and deliver excellent academic student service

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline such as education or communication (essential)
  • Previous experience in academic skills student support 
  • Data analysis skills and experience highly regarded
  • Previous experience in academic skills student support
  • Knowledge of academic systems such as Moodle, Turnitin and software like Canva
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Excellent reporting and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational, prioritisation and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Extremely high attention to detail
  • Experience in the design and editing of educational resources
  • Postgraduate qualification (desirable)
