Role:

We are delighted to offer a casual position for an enthusiastic and motivated lecturer in the Computer Science discipline at our Melbourne campus. The ideal candidate should have a strong teaching background in the following area(s):

  • Computer Systems
  • Operating Systems
  • Software Engineering & Project
  • Distributed Systems
  • Algorithm & Data Structure Analysis

This role involves educating students in undergraduate and postgraduate courses delivered at the University of Adelaide College, Melbourne Campus and preparing them for advanced concepts in these fields.

Responsibilities:

  • ⁠Develop and deliver comprehensive courses.
  • ⁠Use extensive teaching experience to create impactful and engaging lesson plans and lectures.
  • ⁠Integrate the latest technological advancements and best practices into the curriculum.
  • ⁠Lead practical sessions and hands-on workshops to provide real-world experiences.
  • ⁠Assess student performance through diverse methods, including assignments, projects, and exams.
  • ⁠Mentor and guide students undertaking advanced studies or research in these areas.
  • ⁠Collaborate with senior Academic members to organise industry-relevant workshops, seminars, and guest lectures.
  • ⁠Contribute to the College’s strategic planning and enhancement efforts.

Requirements:

  • ⁠PhD degree in Computer Science or currently being a doctoral student near completion of studies. (essential)
  • Extensive teaching experience within the discipline, preferably in higher education. (essential)
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and pedagogical skills.
  • Proven ability to inspire and engage students at various learning levels.
  • Strong planning, organisational, and academic abilities.
  • Dedication to continuous learning and staying current with industry and academic trends.
