Relief Casual Lecturers in Data Science (For Pool)

• Relief teaching positions at Kaplan Business school in postgraduate data science subjects
• Successful applicants are included in a pool of potential relief lecturers for Trimester 1 2025 subjects
• This is a casual position. Applications will be added to a candidate pool, and work will only be assigned if a replacement lecturer is needed

Role

Kaplan Business School – one of the highest-quality providers of higher education in Australia – is advertising for face-to-face relief lecturers at our Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne and Gold Coast campuses.

We are seeking casual relief lecturers who have the qualifications and expertise to teaching postgraduate classes in the following technical areas:

• Applied Data Science & Analytics
• AI, Deep Learning & Machine Learning
• Python for Data Science

Responsibilities

• Be available to replace lecturers who cannot teach face-to-face classes at KBS campuses
• Be available to assist coordinators in data science subjects if they go on leave
• Be able to support students effectively in and outside of class when needed
• Deliver content in an engaging way when replacing classes

Requirements 

• A passion for teaching and mentoring
• A PhD qualification in data science or a related field or a Master level qualification in data science or a related field plus relevant work experience
• Industry leadership experience in data science is preferred
• Experience in coordinating subjects at a tertiary level is desirable (but not required)
• An appreciation of the distinction between lecturing and educating
• Sensitivity to the needs of international students
• Comprehensiveness and thoughtfulness when marking assessments
• Ability to meet tight academic deadlines
