Role
Kaplan Professional is seeking a curious and detail-oriented financial advice expert to develop and refine high-quality online learning content.
This role is ideal for a Compliance Manager, Practitioner Manager, or Financial Adviser looking to apply their industry expertise in an education-focused environment.
You will contribute to Higher Education, Vocational Education, Continuing Education, and bespoke training programs, ensuring content is engaging, accurate, and aligned with industry standards.
Working autonomously within a collaborative team, you will engage with Course Coordinators, Multimedia Teams, External Writers, and Industry Experts to create and enhance learning materials that shape the future of financial advice education.
Responsibilities
- Write and update content outlines and briefs which includes learning outcomes, overview of content components, external references and reading lists.
- Complete relevant governance documentation related to subject creation and updates, including assessment and curriculum mapping.
- Ensure all feedback from students, Course Coordinators, assessors/tutors, benchmarking activities and other sources is incorporated into content where appropriate.
- Write and develop multimedia content in collaboration with Multimedia Producers to rigorous technical, intellectual and academic standards.
- Ensure content is developed at appropriate AQF level or competencies as appropriate.
- Collaborate with Instructional Designers and Multimedia Producers and provide final content sign-off.
- Identify appropriate industry and academic experts with appropriate qualifications and experience to use in video interviews.
- Write scripts, present to camera and record voice-overs for videos and motion graphics.
- Collaborate with Multimedia Producers and/or external production company in the production of video content.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of the financial advice sector, current issues, legislation and regulations.
- Regularly consult with technical experts and industry practitioners relevant to financial advice.
- Participate in internal governance committees in accordance with the Academic Quality and Governance Framework.
- Comply with the relevant expectations of external stakeholders including government regulatory bodies such as ASQA and TEQSA, as well as with external and professional bodies and associations.
Requirements
- Postgraduate qualification in Financial Advice (essential)
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the financial advice industry (essential)
- Minimum of 3 years experience in learning design and delivery within higher education and/or vocational education environments (essential)
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Demonstrated experience in end-to-end multimedia educational content development including scoping outlines, learning outcomes, writing assessments and creating learning artefacts.
- Demonstrated knowledge of industry/professional association codes
- Understanding of the legal and regulatory requirements impacting the industry
- Proven ability to convey complex ideas in a user-friendly manner, utilising multimedia formats
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to meet tight production deadlines
- Ability to collaborate with Instructional Designers and Multimedia Producers in the production of multimedia content
- Experience with video, piece to camera (PTC), voice-overs (desirable)
