We’re excited at Kaplan Business School to be recruiting for an additional Academic Head for our Information Technology discipline which encompasses specialisations in Cyber Security, Programming, Analytics, and Web & Mobile Development.
Reporting to the Academic Director of IT and working alongside three Academic Heads, this is an administrative position without direct reports but with operational duties that include the recruitment and scheduling of industry-astute faculty, the forward-thinking coordination of subjects, the incisive review and enhancement of curriculum, and the monitoring of student success metrics with interventions promptly activated.
Our ideal candidate is an early career academic whose readiness for this managerial opportunity can be demonstrated by their well-known advocacy of student centricity, especially in the context of international education. They are especially drawn to the distinctiveness of reputable non-university providers of higher education due to a mutual prioritisation of quality teaching, student support and graduate employability.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the relevance and currency of the discipline’s curriculum
- Coach and engage an expanding national faculty that exceeds 100 educators
- Prioritise student-centredness across all facets of teaching and learning
- Proactively collaborate on interdisciplinary and cross-functional initiatives
- Exceed the requirements of regulatory and professional industry accreditations
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline
- Membership of an industry association such as the Australian Computer Society
- Experience as a teacher and subject coordinator in a higher education context
- Professional experience as a practitioner within the IT sector
