Role
We’re looking for a Content Writer (Financial Advice) to contribute to the delivery of sophisticated multimedia content and assessments in financial advice across Continuing Education (CE), short courses and other bespoke products.
The position contributes to researching, writing, conducting in-field interviews, working with external subject matter experts, editing and working with instructional designers and multimedia producers to create multimedia content (including videos and motion graphics). The Content Writer (Financial Advice) also develops interactive activities for inclusion in content and formal assessments. Content and assessments are required to be developed to an appropriate level and timeline to meet production schedules.
Responsibilities
- Research and write high quality financial advice content with reference to relevant and appropriate source materials supplemented by a diverse range of financial advice expertise.
- Develop high-quality multimedia learning content to academic standards in collaboration with the Instructional Designer for digital modules and final content sign-off.
- Multimedia development and production. Develop and produce engaging multimedia content - including videos, motion graphics, and infographics - by scripting, presenting, recording, and collaborating with producers, instructional designers, and subject experts to ensure high-quality educational outputs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the financial advice sector through research and regular engagement with industry experts, advisory committees, and governance forums to understand complex financial issues, inform accurate, relevant, and high-quality content development.
- Identify and develop expert subject matter relationships to contribute to well-conceived and balanced content development for the suite of multimedia products in financial advice.
- Promote a safe, positive, and compliant workplace by adhering to company policies, WHS requirements, and Kaplan’s values while contributing actively as a supportive team member.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in end-to-end multimedia educational content development including scoping outlines, learning outcomes, writing assessments and creating learning artefacts.
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant area (e.g. financial planning) or willingness to undertake further study
- Understanding of financial advice and the legal and regulatory requirements impacting the industry
- Proven ability to express complex concepts in an easy to understand style and in a multimedia format
- Excellent research and high-level writing skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to meet tight production deadlines
- Ability to collaborate with Instructional Designers and Multimedia Producers in the production of digital and interactive content
- Professionalism when consulting with or interviewing industry practitioners
- Experience with video, piece to camera (PTC), voice-overs (Desirable)
