Role

The Student Experience Officer plays a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional student experience at Kaplan Business School. This is a part-time (0.6 FTE), maximum-term opportunity for up to 12 months, providing guidance and advice on all non-academic matters, delivering key student events, and offering pastoral care to support student wellbeing and success.

Working closely with campus teams, academic staff and the wider business, the Student Experience Officer is the first point of contact for students and is central to creating a welcoming, supportive and student-centred campus environment.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for KBS students (on campus and online), delivering a welcoming, supportive and professional service.
  • Provide high-quality customer service and accurate advice on KBS programs, services, and non-academic enquiries.
  • Coordinate and deliver major student events, including Orientation and Graduation.
  • Support the Student Ambassador Program, empowering students to represent KBS internally and externally.
  • Support students with study progression, attendance, welfare and transition to Australian academic and cultural life.
  • Manage student lifecycle processes including deferrals, withdrawals and course changes.
  • Liaise with academic staff regarding student performance concerns and escalate matters to the Campus Manager as required.
  • Maintain accurate records, student notes and portal information relating to pastoral care and student service

Requirements

  • Strong customer service mindset with a positive, supportive and professional communication style.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage a diverse student cohort.
  • Experience supporting students or clients in a high-volume, service-oriented environment.
  • Sound knowledge of (or ability to quickly learn) legislation and frameworks relevant to international students, including ESOS and the National Code.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • High attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and confidence learning new systems.
  • Ability to work rostered shifts within campus operating hours (8:00am–8:30pm, Monday to Friday).
