Role

We are seeking a Curriculum Developer with demonstrated financial services industry experience to design and develop high-quality learning content for Vocational Education (VE), non-award and bespoke programs.

This role is responsible for writing, updating and maintaining educational content and assessments that meet financial services competency requirements, ASQA standards, and the practical needs of industry learners. You will apply real-world financial services knowledge to ensure content is accurate, current, and industry-relevant.

You will research and develop learning materials, collaborate with external financial services subject matter experts, and work closely with instructional designers and multimedia producers to create engaging, contemporary content.

The role also involves managing a suite of financial services subjects/products and supporting student engagement through monitoring discussion forums and responding to content-related queries.

This position is ideal for someone who has worked in the financial services industry, understands the Australian VE framework, and enjoys translating complex industry practice into clear, compliant learning content.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and update high-quality vocational education content, including subject scopes, outlines, briefs, learning outcomes, competency mapping, assessments and learner activities.
  • Ensure all content meets ASQA, AQF and regulatory requirements, following appropriate governance processes and completing required compliance documentation.
  • Research, write and edit financial services learning materials, ensuring accuracy, clarity and alignment with industry standards and source materials.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers, multimedia producers and subject matter experts to develop multimedia content and engaging learning experiences.
  • Manage content development workflows, ensuring production deadlines, quality checks, technical reviews and post-production processes are met.
  • Support student engagement by monitoring discussion forums, responding to technical content queries and contributing to improved learner experience.
  • Participate in governance and quality assurance activities, including moderations, validations, course reviews, industry consultations and VE governance processes.
  • Maintain strong industry knowledge by engaging with financial services experts, conducting research, and contributing ideas for new courses, content improvements and product development.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Business, Economics, Commerce or a related field, with willingness to undertake further study.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) and demonstrated understanding of vocational education and ASQA requirements.
  • Experience in end-to-end educational content development, including competency mapping, assessment writing, learning outcomes and learning artefacts.
  • Strong knowledge of the financial services sector, including regulatory and legal frameworks relevant to VE programs.
  • Exceptional research, writing and editing skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and accurately.
  • Proven ability to meet tight production deadlines, working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced content development environment.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, demonstrating professionalism when working with industry practitioners, SMEs and internal teams.
  • High level of attention to detail, commitment to quality assurance, and willingness to participate in continuous improvement and governance processes.
