- Mark assessments promptly and provide comprehensive feedback
- Foster professional and productive student-teacher relationships
- Provide regular support and consultation to students
- A doctoral qualification, or at minimum a master’s qualification (AQF level 9) directly aligned with the teaching discipline
- Substantial and recent industry experience aligned with the teaching area
- For master’s qualified applicants, evidence of active membership in a relevant professional association or recognised industry body
- Evidence of current professional engagement in the discipline area
- An appreciation of the distinction between lecturing and educating
- Sensitivity to the needs of international students
- Comprehensiveness and thoughtfulness when marking assessments
- Ability to meet academic timelines and expectations
