Role

Kaplan Higher Education - Murdoch College is seeking an academic teacher in the areas of English language teaching, critical thinking and research methodology.  The role involves designing and delivering curriculum, assessing student progress, providing guidance, mentoring and creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. This position will be  integral to preparing students with the necessary academic, critical thinking and language skills to thrive in an undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum.

Responsibilities:

• Develop curriculum materials individually, or in collaboration with other teaching team members where necessary
• Deliver lessons in a professional manner
• Deliver 1 hour of consultation (per unit per week) for students outside of scheduled teaching hours
• Mark assessments within the allocated timeframe, record results in the LMS, and participate in college moderation processes as required
• Provide marking feedback to the Director, Learning and Teaching
• Ensure class attendance is taken and recorded
• Participate in, and contribute to, the College’s internal professional development program

Requirements: 

• PhD in Education or related fields (essential)
• Qualifications and experience in teaching international students at Foundation or Diploma level (essential)
• Experience in working with international students (essential)
• Excellent organisational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Demonstrated background in professional development endeavours (desirable)
• Valid Working with Children Check (will be required to obtain WWCC)

Annual Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000 + super
