Role
At Kaplan Australia, we are looking for an organised and customer-focused HR professional to join our Human Resources team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This is a hands-on HR Advisor role that supports employees, leaders and the broader HR team across a wide range of people processes. A large part of the role focuses on managing HR enquiries, onboarding, background checks, contract generation, HR systems administration and reporting, while ensuring a positive employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle.
Working closely with HR Business Partners and key stakeholders across the business, you will play an important role in delivering efficient, accurate and responsive HR support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the HR Freshservice portal and respond to employee and leader enquiries within agreed timeframes.
- Generate employment contracts, employment variation documentation and onboarding paperwork.
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities, ensuring all required tasks are completed.
- Facilitate HR induction sessions for new employees.
- Manage employment background checks and compliance requirements through Fit2Work and other platforms.
- Process employee changes, terminations and data updates within Workday and other HR systems.
- Prepare HR reports relating to headcount, onboarding, leave, terminations and other workforce metrics.
- Support casual and sessional recruitment activities, HR projects and annual people initiatives such as remuneration reviews, engagement surveys and compliance activities.
Requirements
- A qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline.
- 2+ years' experience in a HR Administrator, HR Coordinator, HR Officer or similar HR support role.
- Strong HR administration and organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of Australian employment legislation and the National Employment Standards (NES).
- Excellent customer service and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to prioritise competing tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Excel.
Desirable
- Experience using Workday, Freshservice or other HRIS platforms.
- Exposure to Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
- Experience conducting employee onboarding or HR inductions.
- Previous experience in a high-volume HR administration environment.
