Due to current demand, KIE Adelaide is currently recruiting casual English teachers for morning and afternoon shifts of up to 21 hours teaching load per week. We are also in need of emergency teachers able to cover teachers on sick or annual leave.

Teachers will be primarily responsible for:

  • Efficiently planning and delivering high quality English language instruction.
  • Carrying out administrative functions in a timely and accurate manner, including but not restricted to recording attendance, providing written feedback on student performance, and providing information for students’ achievement certificates.
  • Addressing individual student needs and concerns both in and outside the classroom.
  • Participating regularly in professional development activities run by or for the college.
  • Assisting the Senior Academic Staff as directed.
  • Helping create a team environment within the Academic Department and contributing to the effective delivery of quality English language courses offered to international students.

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Possess appropriate tertiary qualifications and CELTA qualification
  • Hold a valid Working with Children Check
  • Possess the ability to both educate and entertain, “Edutain,” our students
  • Understanding of the phonemic alphabet (IPA)
  • Show outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Be available to cover Monday-Friday mornings

 It is a requirement of all Kaplan employees to complete a National Police Check and hold a valid Working with Children Check in your relevant state.
